Synopsis
À 5 ans, Rebecca est la seule survivante d’un crash d’avion en pleine forêt amazonienne et sera recueilli par des Amérindiens. 13 ans plus tard, lorsque les bucherons envahissent la réserve Tenharin et menacent la population autochtone de déforestation, elle n’a d’autre solution que de s’allier à son ami Sylas pour organiser la rébellion…

Rebecca is a young miracle healer, whose fame brings crowds to her father Lawrence Byrne’s evangelical mission, deep in the Amazon rainforest. As hostility arises between the neighboring indigenous tribe and illegal loggers invading their territory, Rebecca and Byrne are pulled into an escalating conftict. Byrne believes he can use his daughter’s notoriety to mediate and avoid bloodshed. But events cast Rebecca into the mystery of her own past. As doubt creeps into their relationship, father and daughter realize they cannot preach peace without confronting their own demons.
Set in the frontier world of the Amazon Rainforest. Transamazonica is a contemporary western, where those seeking fortune are still invading the land of the indigenous to take what does not belong to them. Transamazonica is also the unravelling of a mystery. As young miracle healer Rebecca and her missionary father Hans Grothe find themselves drawn into the escalating conflict between an indigenous tribe and the marauding loggers, the very premise of their relationship will be tested. When Rebecca tries to use her status as a miracle healer to mediate between the warring sides, she must confront the mystery of her past, which lies hidden inside the forest, deep in the indigenous reservation and buried in her memory.
