Synopsis

A partir d’une injustice quatre filles marocaines aux antipodes vont se rencontrer et apprendre à se connaitre pour créer des liens indéfectibles. Si leurs origines sociales et leurs aspirations les opposent, leur désir d’émancipation et leurs quêtes amoureuses vont rapidement les unir.

“Casa Girls is a feminist series through which I wish to question the raging issue of Moroccan sexual freedom. Using comedy and an assumed “pop” tonality, I hope to offer an inside look at Moroccan society, its traditions, its rules and how today’s youth manages to twist these injunctions. My goal is to present a portrait of Morocco freed of any clichés, hopefully different from what’s been shown until now on TV. Besides, beyond its Moroccan specificity, Casa Girls is also an opportunity for me to address women stories with eminently universal issues such as the struggle between what society expects of women and their own desires or the quest for femininity beyond maternity.” (Laïla Marrakchi)
